Mayumura Chiaki:Is she an idol? Yes, she is!

MAYUMURA Chiaki CALLS HERSELF a singing ,guitar-playing and track maker idol. She is an excellent singer and she also composes her own songwriting and backing tracks. Although she is capable of being called an artist, she defines herself as an idol. In this article, I will explain why she is an idol and what makes her so great.

Mayumura Chiaki made her debut in a three-member idol group while she was a music school student, and has been active for about a year. The group went on hiatus after a member left the group, and then started solo activities.

From the beginning of her solo career, she wrote, composed and arranged her own songs. At first, she only sang in DTM with a track she made herself, but eventually she added live guitar performance and her style of today was established. She went on to found a company called 'Kaisha Ja Naimon(It Is Not A Company) Co., Ltd.', where she became the president of the company. Her unique style of not only working independently but also selling her stock certificates to her fans to support her activities has been featured in the news.

From around 2018, she began appearing in the media as an unconventional idol, and she gained a reputation for creating impromptu songs based on themes given by the performers. This song was improvised when she appeared on a variety show.

In 2019, she made her major debut with Toy's Factory and spread recognition among music fans. In addition, she performed with first-class musicians such as Hirose Komi and Dojima Kohei, and increased her experience.

As she became famous, she started to work on many tie-up songs. For example, at the request of Sundai Preparatory School, she made a song to support students taking entrance exams.

Mayumura Chiaki has successfully advanced her career so far. Her talent and activities are going beyond the idol category. But she identifies herself as an idol. To explain why, I quotes an MC from her first appearance at the Tokyo Idol Festival in 2019.

“Until now, I have appeared in various live performances, including band live performances, singer-songwriters' lives, and idol lives (of course I have appesred in idol lives the most times). But what makes me love idols is that the customers are so kind. So kind. When I go to an idol event in the evening after attending a singer-songwriters' event in the daytime, I really feel like I'm home. That's how much I feel, even on days when my heart is hurt, when I come to an idol scene, I somehow feel like I'm healed. More and more I love the idol scene. That's why I love otaku. thank you for always! I think it would be great if both customers and idols could take pride in expanding from Japan to the rest of the world. I think it would be great if not only the culture of idols but also the culture of otaku spread throughout the world. My dream for the future is to win a Grammy Award. Grammy Awards, Japanese Otaku and Idols... No, because, between you and me, when I play against band members who aren't selling well, they always make fun of me when I say I'm an idol. I want to get rid of that. I thought that I would never lose to Bandmen. I will definitely sell it from now on, so please look forward to it."

In the live performance, she improvised and sang a song called "Piccolo Mushi" to reach a moving finale. The song "Piccolo Mushi" was a song about her feelings of being hurt by the prejudice against idols, and at the same time being saved by the idol scene, especially by idol otaku.

There are quite a few idols who perform their own work. Mayumura Chiaki is a genius born from such a soil, and she is about to go out into the wider world with her dream of such a scene on her back. Currently, she is only selling in Japan, but she is also doing activities with a view to expanding to the world. She was scheduled to appear at the Japanese culture event "Naka-Kon 2020", which was scheduled to be held in Kansas City, USA in March 2020, but was watched closely due to the corona disaster. Three years later, she appeared in "Naka-Kon 2023", and from now on, her breakthrough overseas should begin.
